Texas Sheet Cake Cookies

Hey Ya’ll! Today I thought I would share one of my favorite cookie recipes since cookie swap season is upon us. Every time I serve these cookies, they're a hit! Texas Sheet Cake cookies are super easy and only take minutes to make. I won’t lie though, my favorite part of the cookie is the icing – it’s basically fudge and absolutely delicious!

To start, preheat your oven to 350 degrees, and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Next, mix your sugar and butter until combined. It's very important your butter is room temperature!

Next, add vanilla and the egg.

Slowly add in the flour a little bit at a time – be careful not to let it fly all over your kitchen!

Once your batter is mixed, melt the chocolate chips. I put mine in a glass bowl and microwaved for 1 minute 45 seconds, stirring every 20 seconds.

Add the chocolate to your batter and mix.

Now, place a tablespoon of batter on your cookie sheet and bake for 6-8 minutes. It’s important to watch the cookies so they don’t overcook and take them out as soon as they look “set”.

The batter makes 2-dozen cookies, give or take a few. Once the cookies have cooled, it’s time to make the icing.

In a small saucepan, combine the butter, milk, and cocoa powder and heat until melted.

Once melted, remove from the heat and whisk in the powdered sugar.

Delicious!

Let the icing set on the cookies and they're ready to serve!

If you're looking for a chocolate, fudge cookie to serve this season, this is the perfect recipe for that! I've also heard Santa loves chocolate!
